The commune of Zagórz is one of many communes located in the Bieszczady region. It is situated between East and West Carpathian Mountains and Jasielsko-Sanocka Depression. Zagórz is often called a gate of Bieszczady. Located in the Podkarpacki region / District of Sanok /, on south-easterly Poland, in the heart of the Osława and Kalniczka valley. It is just 50 km to the border of Slovakia and Ukraine from here, so everyone travelling up to mountains has to stay here, even just for a moment.
The fact that Zagórz has a very good communication / the crossing of communication arteries : Sanok - Ustrzyki Dolne and Przemyśl - Krosno / makes it the great base of outing for tourists, no matter if they go to Bieszczady's National Park, to the Lake of Solina, up to Słonne mountains or other attractive places of Bieszczady.
It is close to everywhere from Zagórz, which is an important junction of two train lines: Jasło- Zagórz and Przemyśl - Chyrów - Zagórz - Łupków with very new connection with Slovakia and Ukraine. It makes practicing the international tourism much easier, as the potential bearer of a passport is able to get to Slovakia or Ukraine in just 1,5 hour by train.
